The ever-changing face of Oxfam in Crouch End...

Oxfam re-opens on Saturday 25th April 2015 if anyone has been missing their fix of book browsing.
Thmanks for this N8P.
Popped in yesterday and wonder why they bothered with the refit. It must have cost a fortune as well as losing weeks worth of takings. There seem to be fewer shelves with books on and the lighting is, to my eyes, far too bright.
The refit was part of a national programme by Oxfam to make our stores (both back and front) more efficient and more appealing to a wider clientèle (not that we don't appreciate our current, loyal shoppers!).
The new fixings are standard Oxfam issue (including the lights (which are energy saving, as you might expect), and highlight the product lines better.
There are actually more shelves in total, but deliveries of stock from other shops have been delayed, so we currently don't have enough books to put on them (donations always welcome). We are also now better able to display our camera selection and our attractive line in home electronics (should the aforementioned delivery turn up). We are also hoping to develop our embryonic musical instruments department and hope those with unused instruments will consider us for a donation in future.
Hopefully, our regular customers will come to find that our new layout is an improvement and their shopping enjoyment enhanced.
Thanks for the note. I must admit that things have improved a lot since I posted a few weeks ago. There are now a lot more books and records and it is good that you are selling IT, cameras, and electrical kit. Musical instruments will be a bonus.
One thing that didn't change during the refit are the staff. They're still great!
