Roxanne and Scarecrow closing down
Two long-established shops are closing in January 2020.
Roxanne on the Broadway - an outlet for discounted French Connection and other fashion labels - moved to Crouch End from the Stroud Green Road several years ago. The owners are retiring.
Scarecrow on Park Road is also closing.

Leasehold is a complex thing. Scarecrow should have had some sort of security of tenure under the landlord and tenant act. even if the landlord wants the property back for his own use then there should have been some financial compensation. though, as i said, leasehold is a complicated thing.
do we know what the landlord is planning to do ?
the owner of the new shops next door to the Arthouse, which I think is a very poor position, wants £80,000 a year for the bigger unit. hard to believe that'll be achieved.
