Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
The sun is shining, so please do visit PARK ART - the temporary sculpture park project on the lawns outside Bruce Castle Museum and in the Tudor Round Tower. The project supervisors and volunteers are there to assist your visit - we would love to hear your views.
(And do visit the PARK ART ...Haringey sculpture project located elsewhere in the borough too: http://www.haringey.gov.uk/whatsondisplay.htm?whatsonid=195887&date=Sat%20Jul%2028%202012%2000:00:00%20GMT+0100%20(GMT%20Daylight%20Time )
Before your visit to Bruce Castle, why not take a look at this link which shows time-lapse photography by the artist Ben Long of the building of his magnificent sculpture over a month (with photography taken from the upper windows of Bruce Castle):

And here are a couple of links to Park Art in the news:

And do step inside Bruce Castle to see OOOOOH ART in the two upper galleries, which showcases pieces by 11 local artists working in a variety of media, to reflect the values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. Each artist has created a piece of their own work and another in collaboration with local school children.
Please enjoy it - both exhibitions are on until 23rd September.
Advance notice:
There are two extra talks organised too taking place in early September - so jot these times down in your diary:
Evening talk:
Wednesday 5th September, 7pm - Meet the artist Ben Long and the Curators of the Lion Sculpture (see attached poster)
AND
Afternoon talk:
Saturday 8th September, 3pm - London Pride 10,000 Lions of London by Valerie Colin-Russ
Based on her fascinating book detailing lions that can be see all over London, this talk will greatly enhance your appreciation of our temporary scaffolding sculpture on the lawn outside.
Thank you for your support
Best wishes
