The North London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest published the proposed submission version of the North London Waste Plan in May 2011 - the NLWP. The NLWP identifies a range of suitable sites for the future management of all north London’s waste up to 2027 and sets out policies and guidelines for determining planning applications for waste developments.
The North London Waste Plan was submitted 28 February 2012 and the anticipated new timeline for the NLWP is:
The timeline will be revised as more details of the examination are confirmed by the planning inspector.
The North London Waste Plan submission document and all the supporting documents are available on the examination page (external link) of the NLWP website.
Two of the supporting documents have been amended to clarify the content further since the proposed submission version, the Sustainability Appraisal and Habitats Regulations Assessment Screening Report.
These two supporting documents are therefore being consulted on again. The consultation period has been extended to take into account the London Assembly and Mayoral elections - the closing date will be Thursday 24 May 2012. The Planning Inspector will be sent copies of all comments received.
