Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
A friend gave us some biscuits she'd brought back from Italy, rather nice, soft, tear-drop-shaped biscuits with a gooey chocolate centre, call faggotini. I thought this sounds more like an offal dish from the north of England. Which set me wondering, what was that sort of meat loaf thing I used to buy in Leicestershire. Blowed if I could remember, it troubled me all day. Then I saw this article and remembered instantly - 'haslett' - phew what a relief.
But I'm not so sure if young Richard Hazlett, a herbal medicine graduate, should be treating bi-polar disorder, a real chemical imbalance, with lavender water and mint tea. Perhaps they've taught him some other techniques.
I haven't found this biscuit definition for faggotini but I have found this which is quite Italian and this which is quite urban
