Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

This tweet reads

any truth to rumour of big property developer buying in CE for luxury flats & shops?

One response I've seen reads

This has been kicking round for some years; they land they are sitting on is worth a fortune and they are using it to warehouse challenged kids (appalling home backgrounds, homelessness, substance abuse, mental health probs)  in rooms designed for Finnish backpackers visiting London in the 1950s.
They are certainly developing  a track record in trying to tackle homelessness ( https://www.ymca.org.uk/latest-news/ymca-and-rshps-innovative-facto... ) so it must have occurred to them that they are sitting on a fortune in CE.
which may very well be true.
This blog from the Crouch End Neighbourhood Forum describes Crouch End as "a property Klondike" so perhaps our under-developed peaceful tree-lined streets are due for a metamorphosis. Which might be a shame? Or a gold rush?
