Apparently the Aldersgate Group has written to George Osborne

"The message of this letter is loud and clear: we must put an end to any political uncertainty surrounding the UK's energy future and start unleashing the billions of pounds of overdue investment which will deliver new growth for our economy."

What this means to me is that the fat cats at the top of these companies,  including household names such as Asda, Sky and PepsiCo,who  have called on the government to put in place a 2030 target on decarbonising the power sector. are so worried that the rich supply of cream coming from unsustainable subsidies for wind turbines may be withdrawn, that they are threatening to stop "investing" in Britain. Where "investing" means profiting massively from the surcharges on our fuel bills.
