In an extraordinarily prejudicial statement (which actually doesn't even make sense) our local MP, a supposedly progressive politician, has vowed to "vote against any Brexit vote [sic]" - i.e. to oppose the will of the people, presumably because she knows better than they do. I will do my best to be there and explain to her why she is wrong.
Brave man.
Catherine West's position maybe valid, but only works when your views coincide with the constituency electorate. 68% of constituencies voted to Leave. So would we she be content to see parliament vote accordingly?
Incidently the link https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10206446363623402&set=g... doesn't work for me, I just get a 'page unavailable' message.
The link I have provided works perfectly for me - takes me to a Chris Last entry on Facebook group Hornsey Town Hall. I was about to suggest that Facebook is as dysfunctional as the Labour party, but we've had enough exaggeration (mendacity?) during the referendum campaign.
Ah that'll be it - Chris Last barred me from accessing his Facebook site sometime ago. I have absolutely no idea why. Perhaps something to do with his belief in openness and transparency?
How can it be 'prejudicial' when she is representing the clear view of her constituents? To do anything other than vote against Brexit in the unlikely event of there being a vote would be ignoring the wishes of Haringey residents
Prejudicial means she has made up her mind without even hearing what has been proposed, in defiance of a non-trivial 17m+ vote in favour of Brexit. Hornsey Town Hall has been used for political meetings before. There is a 2011 OpinioN8 quiz about it.
She doesn't need to make her mind up - 75% of her constituents have made it clear what they think and she is their representative
