Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
‘Printmaking Unwrapped’ at Front Room Art
We are continuing the tradition at our Avondale Gallery this year, on the weekend of December 5/6, with an exhibition of prints to be sold in support of UNICEF and its work with Syrian Refugee children.
You will need to email us at email@example.com to receive an invitation to Printmaking Unwrapped.
Front Room Art, the new venture by artists Judy Gilley and Kim Valdez held a very successful sale of work at the Avondale Gallery in December 2014 which raised over
£5000.00 in aid of Medecins Sans Frontiere and the Ebola crisis.
We are taking a slightly different approach this year by concentrating on Original Prints from a specially selected group of eleven well-established and (mostly) North London
'Printmaking Unwrapped' will display a wide range of original prints: linocuts, woodcuts, screenprints and etchings - all work will be for sale at affordable prices - from £25.00 to
£350.00 - ideal as presents for the Festive Season, and 25% of all sales will go to UNICEF.
We hope the weekend event will surprise and delight the public as well as inform them about various printmaking techniques. We are holding a special 'Meet the Artist' event on the afternoon of Sunday December 6th, from 3.0 pm, where the artists will be present to
meet the public and talk about their work and print processes. This will be followed by the
drawing and 'Unwrapping' of our surprise Raffle print.
Martin Davidson has let us use his image 'First Fall’, taken from the woodcut edition which was a sell out at this year's RA Summer Exhibition, to make a lovely Christmas card whichwe will be selling in aid of UNICEF and Irene Leigh is offering a number of beautifulhandmade quilts which are sure to prove popular choices.
If you are new to Front Room Art we should explain that we have two private galleries, one in North Finchley and one in Crouch End, which collaborate to put on a number of special
weekend exhibitions and private views in a friendly social setting. Our audience is drawn from all over North London, but because the galleries are in private houses we do not
advertise the addresses. You will need to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to receive an invitation to Printmaking Unwrapped.
