A little bit of information about Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice -

Noah’s Ark is a community hospice service based in North London. Our mission is to provide care and support for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions living in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington. Facing painful and stressful rounds of treatment, the children we care for are disadvantaged by the complexity of their needs. Many of the children have physical and cognitive disabilities and require round the clock care. Families are often at breaking point.

Noah’s Ark’s main objective is to ensure that families are able to live life as fully as possible while their child is still alive and go on to face the future with hope if their child dies. We aim to create and sustain a true community of support for families enabling them to access professional services and to forge friendships and links with other families in similar situations.

We currently support 130 children. Our services include:

Ø       Home-based sessions of care for the child providing respite for families

Ø       Family days and sibling groups offering the chance to have fun in a supportive environment

Ø       Palliative care and respite to the child prior to the time of death at home or, in the future, within the hospice building

Ø       A team of highly trained Family Support Volunteers

Ø       Support to parents and siblings before, during and after bereavement

Ø       A Family Link service giving families on-going highly personalised supp
