OpinioN8 for Hornsey and Crouch End

* Decaying
* On its way out
* OpinioN8 will soon be no more
* But the rent is paid up till Nov 2nd 2021 so if you have a twinge of nostalgia for anything here you have a chance to revisit/ download it
* And I have downloaded the entire site (at least the software tells me I have) so I might be able to salvage pages from the back up should you wish me to.
For now there is a lengthy debate on HoL regarding the renaming of Black Boy Lane which encompasses a broad range of views.
And OpinioN8 fully embraces the National Lockdown  Nov 2020), with only the following reservations:
  • It was based on flawed and out of date 'scenarios'
  • The scientists whom we are supposed to be following predicted "a catastrophic loss of life" - this is not a scientific judgement. It has tinges of the moral, philosophical and political. A scientific judgment would offer a number and a confidence interval and let others choose adjectives
  • The tier system had begun to work
  • The saving of lives and the continuance of the NHS is offered on one side of the ledger as a benefit. No attempt is made to quantify the costs.
