Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
My name's Jim. I'm a writer. Pleased to meet you.
I'm on the look out for the good people in Crouch End who:
-Serve behind a bar
-Manage/own a pub
If you fit the above description, then I would like to hear from you!
ABOUT THE INTERVIEW
The interview, ideally, would last for about half an hour - maybe more?
The questions will be about your life, your life in the job, and those you work with, i.e., customers.
You are free to refuse answer to any question at any time. I welcome refusal.
With your permission, I will record the interview on my iphone.
WHAT IS THIS FOR?
I like to write about, and for, people who live in our world and to explore their particular working 'habitat'. It's about really understanding people, and about reflecting that through theatre, through film or the short story.
THAT'S PRETTY HAZY, WILL MY IDENTITY BE PROTECTED?
It's hazy because I don't yet know what media to work with. This will come from ideas provoked by the interviews. You will be kept informed all the way. I DO NOT USE real names. Your 'selves' will remain 100% protected, I am interested in growing a character from you, not copying you. A bit like Faust, I'm after your SOUL 'mwah ha-ha' no, but seriously there may be familiarities, phrases, little details; but nothing that would 'give you away'. I am interested in creating entirely fictional worlds, but departing from an entirely real world. You are helping me, but it's important you understand that this would culminate in original work, over which you'd have no claim (sorry).
I'll get you to sign a little something to protect myself, and I will also get me to sign something to protect you for your records.
SO WHAT DO I GET OUT OF IT?
You get a free drink (yes, any type). And to make a new friend!
Really, you'd be performing an act of kindness.
If you're interested, then send me an email. We'd meet in your pub; or in a different one. But always in Crouch End. Because Crouch End rocks.
Get in touch!
All the best,
