Welcome Nest! So glad to see my very favourite place of the moment on here. Will pop in during the week and tell you all about the Knitting Day at the Big Green Bookshop on Sun.
Left another flyer on their noticeboard and a couple of the knitters were going to contact you about your courses.
One on sewing up garments was discussed at length as that seemed to be a problem for even the most experienced of knitters - I don't know if you do one specifically on that?
One of the knitters was making jackets for rescued battery chickens whose feathers hadn't grown back (a little bit lovely and a little bit bonkers!) and one lady was attempting to knit a pair of stockings using some deep red silk thread and teeny needles, using a recreation of a pattern of stockings found in the tomb of Eleonor of Toledo!
This is a web site of a type known as "hyperlocal" because it is intended to serve only the N8 area. Its purpose and direction will be decided by you and your contributions. You choose what topics to start and which to respond to. Please add discussions on any local topic you choose to the discussion forum, or longer, less local contributions to your own personal blog which for reasons based solely in a schoolboyish love of puns is called rumiN8. If there is a link to a site of local interest you think we should have please add it to concateN8 (nerdy way of saying link) and pretty soon we will make this into a proper annotated 'links' page.
To control the email notifications you receive click on "My Page" from the main menu, "Settings" from the links below your name at the top right of the page, and finally "Email" from the links on the left. Choose "Daily" as the frequency to cut down the number of mails you might receive. Also see this Ning FAQ
There are of course some things we frown on, and will do our best to prevent, which are set out in our terms of service.
Apart from that, please crack on and submit your thoughts. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.

And an intermittent knitting related blog would be lovely
