This article is completely terrifying - and enraging. A perfectly ordinary couple bullied by Haringey because the council still can't stand to admit it's made a mistake:…Continue

For over ten years residents on Landrock Road and Gladwell Road fought off planning applications on a strip of land that runs between Landrock Rd and Cecile Park. We battled it down from a row of…Continue

I felt quite proud when I was catching up on the Shit London website and discovered that our very own Crouch End had made the grade:…Continue

As an Advent treat, here's a bolt of highest quality Christmas cheer from one of Crouch End's (sort of) home grown bands, Clean Bandit. The video was shot in Crouch End as well: see which bits you…Continue

Today I'm wearing my all-time favourite t-shirt, a red one with this on it:
I got it in Portobello Market, of all places, about five or six years ago. It's getting a bit faded already, and there are several holes in one side, so I have just been doing a quick bit of googling to see if I could buy a replacement. The tags were cut out of my one…

I have assigned you a role of "Apostle" on the site which gives you rights over discussions, photos, members and blogs, visible when you look at a detail page as "ADMIN OPTIONS" and the ability to edit. So if needed you should have sufficient control to take action.
This is a brief report on the first week of public operation of OpinioN8.
There are now 17 members (though three of them are me) and most of them look like Herman Munster carved out of a pumpkin. See the Hallowe'en event for more pumpkin pictures.
To update your profile picture log on, click on "my page" and then click on old pumpkin face.
Carol Horne has started an album for local photos and added some and I spotted an alien invasion
So far there is only one discussion but it should have some resonance with many. I would urge everyone to read the policy and write to Haringey .
Plans for the site in the short term include:
Inviting some new members - I have a number of email lists of local people and will send out invitations very soon
Adding some sub menus to the tabs across the page to home in on key information
Perhaps re-organising the front page slightly - it seems a bit runaway at the moment
Plans for the site in the medium term include:
Write a note explaining how to import photos from FlickR
Integrate with Facebook and Twitter
Add custom pages reflecting local interest
In the meantime I need some more N8 word plays - ideally all the tabs would have N8 puns. Send me what you can think of or check out the Onelook dictionary wild card look up
