"How can it be 'prejudicial' when she is representing the clear view of her constituents? To do anything other than vote against Brexit in the unlikely event of there being a vote would be ignoring the wishes of Haringey residents"

Volunteer landscape architect needed for library garden

Are there any landscape architects out there who'd like to help with designs for the Hornsey Library courtyard garden, with a view to putting in a Heritage Lottery bid? I'm sure many of you will not know the garden even exists, but a small volunteer team has been working hard over the past two years to restore it to its original glory. To make it more accessible to all, we now need some professional help but sadly have very little in the way of funds - can anyone help?See More

Jacqueline Osley replied to Adrian Essex's discussion Haringey proposal to demolish the few remaining offices in Crouch End
"There doesn't seem to be anything happening on the site next to Jordans. Annoyingly it's all been boarded off so that the pavement is unusable - particularly bad when you have little children with you - yet no-one seems to be working there."

Jacqueline Osley replied to David's discussion Feeling positive about Crouch End shops and restaurants
"I don't think we're whinging. I do appreciate Crouch End  and as I said, shops like Niddle Noddle are very welcome but I regret the imbalance between eateries and shops. Muswell Hill has two shoe shops, for example, several clothes…"

Jacqueline Osley replied to David's discussion Feeling positive about Crouch End shops and restaurants
"Yes, Niddle Noddle is a lovely shop but we need more shops to serve basic needs as well. I agree with David Winskill about the danger of creating a night time economy at the expense of retail and I suspect that it is because there are more families…"

Jacqueline Osley replied to David's discussion Feeling positive about Crouch End shops and restaurants
"I'm afraid I feel the opposite! While it IS good to see fewer empty places, I wish we didn't have so many restaurants in Crouch End. We have lost so many shops serving our basic needs. I remember 4 different bookshops in Crouch End, for…"

Jacqueline Osley replied to Adrian Essex's discussion Crouch End's coffee shop number 55
"I'm certainly not happy with the way things are going but this is why we must shop locally when a decent shop is here. Look what happened to  Office Dog and Callis Shoes. Not to mention Rock Around the Clock. These are the kind of shops…"
