Tesco masquerading as a cutesy independent coffee shop in Crouch End

see this ariticle about Harris + Hoole in Crouch End, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-20943739Tesco actually are founding shareholders in this coffee chain, so it's never been independently owned and run. Although the website says the people running it are a family.Extract from BBC article:'With its exposed brickwork, muted lighting and expensive decor, Harris and Hoole is the epitome of a modern, upmarket coffee shop of the kind that…See More

163 Tottenham Lane - aka Kwitfit site application

Finally got around to reading the Applicant's Design Statement, and looking at the relevant application layouts/ elevations, I have to say I thought the Design Statement was a masterwork of sorcery and mirage. So full of aspiration, contrasting with designs devoid of inspiration.Yet another 'pushing the boundary' type application, where the developer is just hoping no-one objects and they can hoodwink the planners and push through an absurdly oversized and underwhelming development - probably…See More

Thank you very much for agreeing to help with the admin of OpinioN8

I have assigned you a role of "Apostle" on the site which gives you rights over discussions, photos, members and blogs, visible when you look at a detail page as "ADMIN OPTIONS" and the ability to edit. So if needed you should have sufficient control to take action.

This is a brief report on the first week of public operation of OpinioN8.

There are now 17 members (though three of them are me) and most of them look like Herman Munster carved out of a pumpkin. See the Hallowe'en event for more pumpkin pictures.
To update your profile picture log on, click on "my page" and then click on old pumpkin face.

Carol Horne has started an album for local photos and added some and I spotted an alien invasion

So far there is only one discussion but it should have some resonance with many. I would urge everyone to read the policy and write to Haringey .

Plans for the site in the short term include:
Inviting some new members - I have a number of email lists of local people and will send out invitations very soon
Adding some sub menus to the tabs across the page to home in on key information
Perhaps re-organising the front page slightly - it seems a bit runaway at the moment

Plans for the site in the medium term include:
Write a note explaining how to import photos from FlickR
Integrate with Facebook and Twitter
Add custom pages reflecting local interest

In the meantime I need some more N8 word plays - ideally all the tabs would have N8 puns. Send me what you can think of or check out the Onelook dictionary wild card look up
