Luckily it is complemented by a rather lovely dead tree

What business Middeys/Fio's have planned for the interior of the shop is one thing - but the use of the exterior quite another.

As we all know, Haringey are in the process of flogging off the Town Hall square alongside the rest of the council owned HTH estate. What this means for Middeys is that the outdoor seating area, including the land upon which the canopy sits, will soon be owned by the HTH developers, and it is the developers who will decide on the use of the space. To be absolutely clear, Middeys have the outdoor space on an interim basis, until the new owners reach a longer term decision.

It will be interesting to see the masterplan for the square - perhaps early in the new year.

Middeys is making me cross. Incompetent in managing a development in a conservation area; confused in their business plan - are they a family bistro with a chicken-heavy menu and a desire to bring bubble tea to N8, a wannabe Planet Organic or a bunch of chancers without a clue who nicked our TELEPHONES letters? That canopy is horrid and not in their planning application image. I wish they would bugger off and let someone with some vision and respect for the neighbourhood turn this key site into an asset instead of the eyesore it promises to become. Rant over. For now.
