Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

Mildura Court answer

Mildura Court was built in 1950 according to the British History website. It is situated on the island in the middle of the one way system where Hornsey High Street joins Turnpike Lane, opposite New River Village.
Mildura is located in the far north-western corner of Victoria, on the banks of the Murray River, around 400 kilometres from Adelaide and under 550 kilometres from Melbourne.
Originally a rather lifeless area, the region around Mildura was transformed into a rich agricultural oasis thanks to the work of the Chaffey brothers from Canada in the late 1800s due to their experience with creating irrigation settlements.
Its connection with N8, is the block of flats named after it recognition of the food parcels sent from Mildura to London during the Second World War. My source for this story is generally reliable, but I have not been able to find independent corroboration.
