Congratulations to all the local marathon runners who completed the London Marathon this week, especially:

1) Simon Tanner whose blogs have graced these pages during his preparation. If I have read this page correctly he is in the top 25% of marathon runners in Britain .

2) All the London Heathside runners who competed this year - some storming performances including 17th woman.

London Heathside also make the Haringey website this week as part of the Sports Partnership taking over the running of the Finsbury Park Track and Gym.

Adrian might try making soda bread especially after Ali at Coffee Cake showed him how to ferment sourdough.

More build up to the Crouch End Festival with a call for volunteers for fun in the park.

A follow up to last week's news of progress (!) on the Town Hall project with a deeply confusing and probably misunderstood planning application which if read carefully contains the words "to allow demolition [.] of the Town Hall". What are mere mortals to make of this gobbledegook?

Raisin wants to know what shops you'd like in Crouch End. Jim is worried about weed killer. And Haringey wants your views on its policy on Child Poverty

There are many good events - indoors in The Three CompassesThe Great Northern Railway tavern and Weston PArk Primary School, and outdoors at railway Fields, both early and not quite so early in the day. Plus many others on theevents page
