This is a somewhat far fetched idea in which I will carefully prefix occasional words with un- in order to adopt the ethos of the un-library.For about 7 months the former British Legion Hall on Elder…Continue

Let's use this space to write our profiles re. what we're thinking and doing in and around the Unlibrary at the moment.
I'm @ifbook Chris Meade, Unlibrarian, Director of if:book, exploring the future of the book, blogger atwww.bookfutures.com, and have recently been running a 'curated book' - How Power Corrupts by Ricardo Blaug - at the @freewordcentre and thinking a lot about how to make new kinds of public places for reading, bookselling and literature. I've set up @portablebooks with @raliel.. and am keen to run a pop up restaurant at our home sometime soon. Meanwhile I've been meaning to do some more fiction of my own for so long.. and am now determined to plunge in.
What are you doing and thinking in and around the Unlibrary? Do tell.
(That's me on the right in the 21st Century)
I'm @HornseyCupcake, mother, wager of war on dog poo and seeker of clean hedgerows and green urban spaces. I write, cook and create storms where I can to try and get things taken care of. Not in a mafioso sense you understand, more as a civic-minded meddler.
I will be creating a profile soon at the Unlibrary which I'll be using as a bolthole to write, think and do a bit of work as living, working and baking cupcakes in a one-bedroomed flat with two small children can be a bit of a zoo at times.
I'm working on a novel at the moment and would like to make use of the space in the Unlibrary and use some of the writers groups at the Library.
I am Dianne ( @dear_oh_deer ) and I take photos and make things and can't remember what is in my profile box but maybe feathers. I'm pretty excited about amazing things happening at the unlibrary.
Wow - what a responsive place this is turning out to be!
Artist in residence Ruth Franklin doesn't often make it online but her work and CV can now be seen at www.ruth-franklin.co.uk, and her beautiful book-built constructions are in the big display case (vandals willing). We should run another profile-making day soon I reckon too.
