Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
I had coffee in the Ramblin' Rose Coffee Shop/Bar this morning and found it a thoroughly pleasant experience. Not only did my meeting go well but it's a comfortable place. The idea of using a previously unused part of a pub for another purpose is catching on all over the country. Pubs which might otherwise close down (I'm not suggesting that this is on the cards for the Harringay Arms) are incorporating Post Offices and hardware stores and crèches and all sorts. This coffee bar is not quite incorporated into the pub in that it is entirely self contained with a dividing door between the two.
I just had coffee, though a toast and marmalade (or jam or honey) breakfast would have been a possibility. Lunches look as though they might be tempting too, with panini and bread rolls part baked on site and pizza a speciality.
