Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
London Metropolitan Brass is a new community brass band, based in North London. We are always on the lookout for more players, whether experienced or coming back to playing after a break. Rehearsals are on Friday evenings 7:45 pm to 9.45 pm at Muswell Hill Methodist Church. The band is conducted by Paul Hooper a teacher and professional musician of fifteen years and currently principal Trombone of the Irish Guards band.
We have a busy Christmas season lined up with and an exciting 2014 in the planning, including a number of gigs in our local community, more widely across London and beyond. The band has a vibrant social scene with regular pub trips, social outings, barbeques and parties.
If you don't currently play a brass instrument but would like to learn, we have a beginners band where we can teach you free-of-charge. Instruments are available to borrow. Beginners sessions running from 7:15 pm on Friday nights at Muswell Hill Methodist Church. We are launching additional beginners-only sessions place fortnightly on Wednesday evenings at Cufos, near Alexandra Palace 7:30-9:30 from 13th November. Come and give it a go - it is never too late to learn!
