What happened to the Crouch End onion seller?

Does anyone know what happened to the onion seller that used to pitch up selling onions and garlic outside Budgens in Crouch End every once in a while?  Was he part of a promotion for the French wine sellers Nicolas or just a random onion seller?  Also, do those little stalls selling books still appear from time to time or have they been seen off?

I don't remember seeing anything for ages.  Just musing this whilst rattling around, trying to induce sleep!

I saw him a few weeks ago outside Nicolas wine shop! Sorry can't remember when exactly, but I think he is still doing the rounds. You could always ask in the wine shop, they might know when he is due for another visit.

He won't be back until September now, he tells me. Actually it is a team of three and they are from Roscoff - France. I am assuming this has to do with the new crop not being available until then.
