Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
There is clearly something happening at Hornsey Town Hall. This picture across the locked car park shows scaffolding up to roof level and a blanked off window.
Chris seems to think it has to do with the Secret Cinema, though this item suggests that that particular time warp is happening in Hackney.
So I’ve found out a little more. The scaffolding is actually for a survey to look at water leakage around the assembly hall roof, and see what remedial works are needed. I'm not sure how much longer this is expected to take, but will check with the project team.
There is a brief mention of this in the updates section on the council website http://www.haringey.gov.uk/hth
Temporary scaffolding has been put up on the side and roof of the assembly hall at Hornsey Town Hall.
The scaffolding is in place to allow us to survey the roof and assess what remedial works might be needed to help prevent water leaking through the roof. Scaffolding is essential to helping us do this work without causing any damage to the brickwork on the listed building.
