Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

Saw this on social media - Havering have partnered Wates to replace and rebuild their council housing stock, setting up a JV to do so.

Now, whether this is identical to Haringey's HDV or just a close cousin I'm not sure, but it'll serve as an interesting direct comparison to whatever the new administration here decide to do instead.

Havering's political make up is close to being interesting - Conservatives having 33 councillors, Havering Residents Association 12, Labour 5 and Independent Residents 4 [Wikipedia]). So there is a substantial minority made up of residents' associations - who  have split (The Guardian)

This is a summary of the Residents' manifesto for Thursday's elections

Google has not found for me any articles where the Havering Residents' Associations comment on the Wates deal.

The announcement of the deal must just have escaped purdah.
