School funding consultation kicks off over Haringey's 'unfair' formula

Thanks to Liz on HoL for flagging this

RESIDENTS are being urged to respond to a government consultation that could see Haringey awarded school funding in line with neighbouring boroughs.

The exercise is the first of two consultations, with the first measuring the desire for change and the second – later in the summer – examining the options.

Click here if you want to read more from the Haringey Indy about it, or cut to the chase and click here to respond to the consultation by May 25th

There's a lot that's unfair about the way Haringey schools are funded as well as how their places are allocated.  Having just written a lengthy and most likely futile appeal against the decision to offer my daughter a place on the other side of the borough instead of at the school at the end of my road, I am fuming.

I'm probably heartily sick of consultations too, given that they seem to consult on stuff that they are going to do or not going to do anyway.

But I shall take a look, thank you kindly.
