Police are appealing for information following several assaults

Detectives are potentially linking a number of assaults during the daylight hours of the afternoon in Haringey parks, in which the victims have been approached by a lone man and assaulted with no apparent motive.

Officers are investigating the incidents, which have taken place in Highgate Wood, Queens Wood and Alexandra Park. Detectives are also looking into whether there is any link with an assault in Belmont Recreation Ground, N22.

The suspect is described as male, white/light skinned, aged 20 to 35 years, 5ft 7inch to 5ft 11inch tall, short dark hair, wearing casual clothing.

Police are carrying out increased high visibility patrols at relevant times to provide reassurance.

Investigating officer, DC Kay Sekyere, of Haringey CID, said: “We are looking at any potential links between the incidents and our enquiries are ongoing. If you have any information please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Kay Sekyere of Haringey CID on 07899 967 616 or 020 8345 0712 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
