Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

The email below has just been circulated:

Dear Constituent

I am writing to let you know that the council will shortly be resurfacing the entire length of Alexandra Palace Way.

The reason for the works is that Alexandra Palace Way forms part of the Olympic torch route, so the council wants to make sure that the route is completely up to scratch. There will therefore be a road closure in place from 19 May for an event in the Palace and resurfacing work will commence on 21 May. The process will take just under three weeks and should be completed by 9 June.

Resurfacing will be carried out in three main stages starting at the junction of Muswell Hill and Priory Road, then up towards the garden centre then along past Alexandra Palace; with the final section down to Bedford Road.

Road closures will apply weekdays (Mon – Fri) 9.00 am to 5.00 pm while the work is in progress and signed traffic diversions will operate.

Additionally, the W3 bus will be re-routed along Mayes Road, Hornsey Park Road, Hornsey High Street and Priory Road throughout the roadworks.

We hope that the roadworks do not cause too much disruption, but as ever, if you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Best wishes,
Gail Engert
Liberal Democrat councillor - Muswell Hill
