Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
To a timetable as yet to be determined. Thanks to Liz on HoL for posting this up.
Park road Lido will be closed while necessary repairs are made to the pool.
Shortly before Christmas, a technical fault at Park Road Lido forced Fusion Lifestyle, who manage our leisure centres, to close the pool in the interests of customer safety. Further investigations have shown that the fault was being caused by cracks in the pool floor, making it impossible to maintain a safe water level. We have been working together with Fusion to find the best solution and Fusion have agreed to carry out necessary repairs alongside a wider refurbishment of the Lido. Improvements will include repainting the pool, replacing the surrounding paving and carrying out works to the pool plant facilities.
The Lido will remain closed until the repair and improvement works can be carried out; the aim is to have this all completed for the start of the outdoor Lido season (1 May), though the obvious intention would be to have these works completed as soon as possible in advance of this. We know this will be disappointing for swimmers who enjoy using the open air pool during the winter months, but we hope you will welcome the improvements once they have been completed. Indoor facilities at Park Road will remain fully open throughout the works.
Any updates – including the start and finish dates of improvement works – will be published on the Park Road and council websites, as well as being posted on social media and on display at the centre.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
And thanks again to HoL for their collection of photos. You can see this one posted under the heading Thirties Bathers at Hornsey Baths. It might or might not be the Park Road Lido
