Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

What’s your top local shop?

Dear Crouch Ender,
One of the best things about Crouch End is the rich variety of independent shops in our town centre.
That’s why I was delighted when my Liberal Democrat colleague, Lynne Featherstone MP, launched her independent shops competition.
Our local traders are great examples of local entrepreneurs in action. They often give fantastic customer service and provide excellent products. But these traders are operating in a tough economic environment – compounded by the Labour-run council’s recent hike in high street parking charges.
Hundreds of people have already voted in Lynne Featherstone’s competition. Already many local people have begun talking to their neighbours and friends about their nominations, but I want to see even more votes cast.
You can vote for your favourite shops across three different categories:

·        Most attractive shop front
·        Best customer service
·        Best all-round independent shop

All nominations will be entered into a prize draw – with the lucky winner receiving £100 to spend in the independent shop of their choice.  All voters will also be invited to an event in the summer to announce the competition winners!
You can place your nomination by clicking here. I really hope one of our Crouch End shops wins – so get voting!

With best wishes,

Councillor David Winskill
Liberal Democrat, Crouch End
