Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

I just saw a post on another website about Irvin Bar Grill, a new 46 cover Italian/Modern European restaurant opening in Crouch End in March 2015.

I wonder where it'll be located? Does anyone have further information about this?

Might be this modern italian fish restaurant one which we spotted on Facebook

A little online search would suggest that Irvin Bar Grill is to take the place of the short lived Super Charcoal Grill at 43 Topsfield Parade, Tottenham Lane. If it lives up to its billing, it could be another nice addition to this stretch. The Middle Lane fish restaurant must be something else entirely.

Anyone know what is happening in the old chippy? Whatever it is seems to be taking almost as long as the Park Road Pool renovations...
No idea regarding chippy but Irvin Bar Grill is looking really interesting. And coming along full steam ahead, with the owners all hands on, apparently opening mid-March.

Irvin Bar Grill is a new 46 cover restaurant opening March 2015 in Crouch End, North London. Our offering is based on outstanding simple food, great presentation, creativity and attention to detail in a warm, buzzy and relaxed environment. We will be serving excellent Italian wine, Scotch whisky and cured meats from the bar and a menu of colourful, fresh and exciting cicchetti style small plates from the kitchen & grill.

We are looking for a committed, creative and personable Head Chef to run the small but well equipped kitchen in this new venture.

Our Chef will, alongside the owner, develop the menu of classic, seasonal &
innovative small plates using fresh/cured meat, fish and cheese from small Scottish
estates and Italian suppliers and fresh seasonal vegetables.

A genuine passion for food & the desire & experience to create excellent Italian cuisine with new flavour and presentation twists is a must.

I reckon this is it:

No this picture above is from middle lane. The place in question is opposite the Queens Pub.

Q. So what's this then? A. In a strok of absolute genius I rang the number - this will be Matthew's Seafood Restaurant round about the end of Feb / beginning of March - depending on building work.

yes two very different places one a fish place the other a meat place! ;-) great additions non?

sample menu

£19.00 for steak? ouch. And i can take (sic) it that a discretionary (12.5 to 15pc ) service will be added...

£21.38/21.85 for a steak? a bit steep non? #onlyasking

That's what Steakhouses in London (Hawkesmoor and Goucho for example) would charge, however these restaurants are trendy and the type of places where you pay for the atmosphere as well as the food! So, these prices might be a little steep for Crouch End. That said, I think the seafood is very reasonably priced and I'm definitely excited for this restaurant to open.

From Facebook about the place next to Dixie Chicken, near Honeycomb and the News agent, opposite the Queen's

Josette Simon This is what's happening there. My friend Stephen, is realising his long held dream of having his own bar. It will be called Irvin Bar Grill and will have modern european food in the form of Italian tapas-like food plates. He and his wife are very longstanding local residents, with kids at the local schools and I wish him very well. It's a brave move and much success to him....
