Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

New improved fortnightly waste collection service starts in Haringey on Monday 5 March

New waste collection service to start on Monday 5 March

Publication date: Thursday 1 March 2012

Haringey's new waste collection service begins on Monday 5 March 2012.

Residents in the first phase in the west of the borough (Highgate, Muswell Hill, Fortis Green, Alexandra and parts of Hornsey, Noel Park, Bounds Green, Woodside and Crouch End ) have now got their new bins, collection calendars and an information booklet about the service.

All recycling will be collected from all households as usual every week.

After 5 March non-recyclable waste will be collected from homes in this first phase according to the calendars distributed with the new bins.

Cllr Nilgun Canver, Cabinet Member for the Environment said:

There is no change to your collection days, they will remain the same, but if you are unsure whether your non-recycling will be collected the week beginning the 5 March or the week after, please check on the calendar distributed with your bin.

I hope this is the start of a real effort to improve recycling in the borough, doing our bit to save money and protect the environment for future generations. If you have any questions please call or email the Veolia contact centre or check the council website.
