Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
On June 14th an amazing 150 people turned up for the launch of the new Crouch and District U3A. The launch group team was not surprised as Crouch End has such a lively, go-getting community and it was fascinating to see the range of groups in which people expressed interest. Languages, film, walking, art history, gallery visits, book clubs, genealogy, dance, architecture, bridge, local history + many more all feature on the questionnaires filled in by those who attended.. However, if the group is to move forward it desperately needs a Treasurer! Without a treasurer, subscriptions can't be taken and the team can't start organising groups for the Autumn. So is there anyone out there who would be interested in taking on this voluntary role? The time needed isn't hugely onerous once members are registered at the beginning of the year and the person who takes it on doesn't need to be an accountant. Any organised person who has managed a budget using a spreadsheet could do it.
The interest in the U3A is obviously there and it would be such a shame if we had to delay setting everything in motion all for the want of someone to manage the books. Please message me if interested
