Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

Lynne Featherstone (she's a member of parliament) has started a competition to find Hornsey and Wood Green (that's her constituency) 's favourite independent shop. You can vote here on Lynne's blog (and be entered in a draw for £100).

You'll note she does not mention Crouch End, but only Hornsey and  Wood Green, that being the name of her constituency. This is not a deliberate snub. Crouch End is part of her bailiwick.

A couple of years ago OpinioN8 attempted to get Crouch End's shops a higher profile in a national competition run by the Daily Telegraph. This page listing our independent shops  is now out of date as well as being incomplete, but may nevertheless serve as a reminder of many of them. I will attempt soon to bring it up to date. Unfortunately none of our shops did win in the Telegraph contest.

Good to promote local shops of course. But what are 3 big issues for indies? Rents, the economy, online competition, parking?
