Labour won the council again. Much to no one's surprise, but only half of N8 complied.
In Crouch End and Muswell Hill, it's hurrah for the Lib Dems. In Hornsey and Stroud Green it's whoop for the Labour Party. A game of two halves, wonder why.
The numbers below suggest a good deal of tactical voting in MH and CE, but the opposite in Ho & SG, where the only winners were Labour. Can it be explained why the Lib Dems increased their vote share by 17.3% in Crouch End, but lost 10.8% in Hornsey?

Q. Can it be explained why the Lib Dems increased their vote share by 17.3% in Crouch End, but lost 10.8% in Hornsey?
Possible Answer - Sainsbury's. Seen by local people as a good thing. HTH - remote, despite the name. HDV - a threat to the other side of the borough. Demographics - until Smithfield Square fills up is Hornsey more like Tottenham? I have no idea, just guessing.
I feel I'm waiting for a punchline...... because...
Joe Goldberg has just pointed this out on Twitter from Red Pepper. The argument is convoluted, but includes a reaction against trips to Cannes at taxpayers expense. Maybe free school meals and not paying council tax has something to do with it.
