Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

As opposed to decidedly unappealing. Many of us went to the Kwik Fit Development Management Forum about this planning application to demolish the  complex of buildings and build loads of stuff on the site. The (still undecided) planning application can be seen here. It appears that after a meeting in December the applicants and the planning department did not come to an agreement(?) and the applicants decide to exercise their right to appeal based on Haringey's non-determination of the case.

I'm not sure how to interpret this - to me it seems as though Haringey offered to negotiate over some of the details of the application, but the applicants have decided to paly hard ball, and rather than seek a compromise, to which Haringey and residents may have been able to say 'yes', are relying on the inspector to approve the whole Monty.

Follow the links through and you can submit comments online. I believe that all the comments received by Haringey so far will be forwarded to the inspector, so presumably only new comments need to be submitted.

Dear All

Following on from the planning appeal letter for non-determination.

Haringey have requested that the appeal is moved up, to an informal hearing
as opposed to written representations.
If this request is successful it will facilitate residents and traders to
talk directly with the planning inspector at an informal hearing.

Non determination means that the Inspector determines the Planning
application.

Applicants have the option to take the external appeals route if they
disagree with a borough planning decision or as in this case the applicants
have taken the non determination route.
They presumably feel they have a sound application which is their
prerogative.

Haringey as indicated previously will be submitting it's reasons for refusal
etc.

Whether you are for or against the proposals please engage with this
process.
