DO YOU... Want to improve community safety in Haringey?
CAN YOU... Spare a few hours a month to make this happen?
IF SO ... We need volunteers to join the new Haringey Safer Neighbourhood Board.
The Mayor of London made a manifesto commitment “Fighting Crime in London” to strengthen the voice and contribution of Londoners in neighbourhood policing. A key plank of this is the setting up of new Safer Neighbourhood Boards by April 2014 to develop the work done by the former Community Police Consultative Groups.
Haringey’s new Safer Neighbourhood Board will be a team of key individuals representing Haringey’s diverse communities alongside the statutory positions defined in the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) Guidance who will work together to advise the Borough Commander.
We want to involve people of all ages and from all sections of the community that live or work in Haringey. This includes those who may not have been actively involved before, who may be vulnerable or who have been a victim of crime.
Haringey’s Safer Neighbourhood Board will be required to: • Help identify and advise on the Borough’s local policing and crime priorities • Monitor police performance and confidence • Fulfill a range of specific functions
If you are interested in joining Haringey’s Safer Neighbourhood Board please visit the HAVCO website.
N.B. There is also a paid position available as a Project Support Officer, who will support thr Board.
