Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
I spent a splendid evening there yesterday (20th Nov) during the course of which I:
2) Took part in a Charleston lesson along with about 50 others under the free tuition of Swing Patrol a taster for their paid lessons
3) failed to take part but watched with amazement at the skills of the Swing Patrol tutees and friends who danced after the lesson to the strains of . . . .
4) . . . . [enjoyed] the University of London Big Band - doing numbers from the era when bands had "vocal accompanists" (not like nowadays when any one who can hold a (loud) note is hailed an X factor genius)
As I left I bumped into a mate, a jazz singer and connoisseur of Crouch End's vibrant evening economy who said "How, cool is this!"
