Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

Did you know that we have an organisation called Healthwatch Haringey set up on a statutory basis from April 2013 to be "a new independent consumer champion for people who use health and social care services in the borough".

This has just produced its first annual report , which among many other things says they have identified  the following trends and themes

  •  Long waiting times for GP appointments.
  •  Health inequalities in Haringey.
  •  Confusing hospital and patient appointment systems.
  •  Complicated and hard to understand health and social care complaints systems.
  • The challenges of getting healthcare to people who are homeless.
  •  The lack of GP appointment interpreters or translators to support people with English as a second language or who are deaf.
  • Access to clearer symptom information for people with learning disabilities.
  •  Confusion and complaints relating to ‘Personalisation’ and ‘Personal Budgets'

They have also produced a Haringey Health Profile with lots of graphs and comparisons.

Or, are you a man who needs a health MoT - then this is the website for you
