Haringey Council has been nominated as the Transport Borough of the Year by a national trade magazine, the Transport Times.
The nomination follows the Sustainable Transport Team's groundbreaking work to improve safety and ease congestions and pollution in the borough as well as to promote behaviour change among residents to more sustainable means of travel.
Cabinet Member for the Environment, Cllr Nilgun Canver, said:

Key schemes include:
The council is working on an extensive network of sustainable transport options, improving accessibility for all, and encouraging behavioural change.
These schemes will improve road safety, ease parking congestion, reducing carbon emissions, tackle health and deprivation inequalities and improve sustainable transport access to town centres, key amenities and employment areas.
