Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
Healthwatch Haringey is recruiting volunteer board members to steer the development of the organisation’s strategy and to manage the transition to becoming an independent social enterprise.
You will have experience of the running of an organisation, probably as a board member or senior manager, and bring a range of experience and skills. You may have detailed knowledge of health or social care issues, although you could bring skills from other sectors too.
We are keen to appoint a balanced board, which will reflect the characteristics of our community in terms of ethnicity, age, gender, disability status and sexual orientation. We positively welcome applications which may help us to achieve this balance.
Specific skills we are seeking include:
Applicants must be over the age of 18 with knowledge of Haringey, its demographics and have an awareness of some of the health inequalities facing people within the borough. Knowledge of how social care and health services are provided and/or purchased is also desirable.
To avoid conflicts of interest however, current employees of health and social care organisations and providers in the borough will not be considered for these vacancies, nor will currently elected members serving in Haringey.
Commitment needed: Approximately 1-2 days per month. Terms will be for an initial period of 2 years, after which the needs of the organisation will be re‑assessed.
Closing Date: 17th February 2014
