Haringey Council slammed for ‘shocking’ lack of primary school places

This headline is taken from the Hornsey Journal and derives from a statement from the Haringey Conservatives (an endangered species??), based on the fact that 40 children will not get a place at all in a reception class this year.

I have seen some figures that suggest that the catchment areas for some Haringey schools is less than one fifth of a mile (just over 300metres) , and that this information is contained in the offer letters which have just been sent out.

I'd be interested to hear how this process has gone in N8 if anyone would like to share.

Meanwhile Haringey tells us "

Independent education commission meets for the first time". This commission is called "Outstanding for All" - which is, I think, an oxymoron.
