Cyclists can get their bikes security marked for free at three Haringey bike shops.

The scheme, from the council and police’s Safer Neighbourhood Team, starts this weekend at Future Cycles N8 8LA, Evans Cycles N8 8DH and Micycle N4 4ED.

Police officers trained shop staff to mark bikes this week and launched the scheme with help from Cabinet Member for Environment Cllr Peray Ahmet on Tuesday.

The Safer Neighbourhood Team is also planting decoy bikes with trackers across the borough to deter thieves.
