Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
In a Hornsey far away, grandiose plans have emerged for the revivified Great Northern Railway Tavern otherwise known as the Top House. At the Haringey planning website under HGY/2016/2339 and HGY/2016/2340 (listed building consent).
With new layouts, a surfeit of banquettes (including a banquette cluster in the back room - I think that may be the correct term), timber this and that and a 'firepit' feature in the garden, and a fully operational kitchen and a large suite of dining rooms on the first floor. Very swish. Very large too. I wonder what the locals will make of it.
We'll lose the function/music room to dining though. Which is a shame - but perhaps a price worth paying for long term ownership by a brewery, Fullers, which staves off the dreaded fate of flats and a failing/closed pub which was the doom so nearly met?
Images of the proposed ground floor and first floor layouts below. Go to the planning docs for a proper look through. Mine's an ESB.

I'd hope the firepit is one of those used for team building exercises. Have a motivating talk (and/or some more ESB) and then walk barefoot across the coals.
