Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information
Now that central Crouch End is fish and chip shop-less (following the demise of the Broadway Fish Bar) we should definitely persuade/cajole/bully the delightful Toff's into opening a sister branch next to the Clocktower.
After harranging them on Twitter about opening a second branch (something that they've survived perfectly well without for 45 years), they replied: "sounds a good idea - nice, local, easy to manage. thanks for the idea."
I'm sure the (no doubt) massively overinflated lease and lack of restaurant space won't be enough to put them off...ahem.
If not then, who fancies another estate agent? Hands up!
Do we need the brand name? How about a fish and chip co-operative?
My central N8 friend informed me that the Broadway chip shop closed for annual holidays last year and re-opened a month later. Is there confirmation that this time it's closed for good?
Peering through the shutters reveals that the fridges and the tables have been removed, thought the fryer remains. I don't think you take the fridges out for a summer hol.
well, that is a shame.
good luck to them in whatever endeavour they carry on with next.
not an easy time to be a self-employed business (I know first-hand).
