Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

I've just spoken to Ali in Coffee Cake and he tells me that both the old Blockbuster site and the currently being done up Margharita and Rickards are to be coffee shops.

Meanwhile on Hornsey High Street Sainsbury's will not have a coffee shop, but they have estimated that as a result of its opening Crouch End will lose 11% of its convenience store trade. This table is taken from this document submitted in support of the current planning application.

What do you think of that then?

Phew! What a relief! There was me thinking we might get a fish and chip shop, or a bookstore or, well, anything but another coffee shop.

I love coffee shops and am very excited about the prospect of another two opening. Maybe one day, every single premises in N8 will be a coffee shop.

We can only dream.
