Christmas Day Lunch & Party

If feeding your face and hours of telly aren’t your bag on Christmas Day, perhaps you could help us? We host a lunch for up to 100 local people of all ages who might be on their own at Union Church (on the corner of Ferme Park Road and Weston Park).

We start with coffee and yummy biscuits c. 11.30 a.m. after the morning service. Then we enjoy a huge plate of turkey with all the trimmings, followed by Christmas Pudding. After this is bingo, singing Christmas carols, entertainment and the playing of a few old-fashioned party games.

The party ends with tea, coffee and mince pies at about 5.00 pm and ends with the giving out of presents. No-one goes home without a gift and for some, this is the only gift they receive.

We need more local volunteers to come and assist by cooking, serving food and drink, washing up, chatting, caring for our guests and driving them to and from home.

We also appreciate any gifts of food, money or items we can give as presents.

No-one need be on their own or lonely on Christmas Day.
