Inspirational volunteers who make the borough a better place despite challenges in their own life have been honoured at a ceremony to mark International Women’s Day.
The ceremony at the College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London in Tottenham High Road on Saturday 9 March, celebrated the contribution of women who give up their time to help others, often unnoticed.
The 26 award winners - who were all presented with certificates from the Deputy Mayor of Haringey, Councillor Sheila Peacock - all represented the theme of the event, 'Against All Odds', and were nominated by members of their communities.
