Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

We called in at Bruce Castle Park on Wednesday. The museum was not open but the park was glorious - it boasts the oldest tree in Haringey.

Being a slave to the internet I checked my emails whilst there and found the one announcing that Haringey has posted a notice to dispose of Hornsey Town Hall. The thing that gave me some slight hope was that when I looked up from the mobile phone the next thing I saw was the Antwerp Arms - a  building in Haringey which has successfully transferred into public ownership based on an Asset of Community Value listing. Maybe we can do the same at Hornsey Town Hall

Being also a slave to tea and cake I was looking for a snack. No cafe is advertised on the Bruce Castle webpages but one does exist on the old bowling green. It's called the Pavilion. It's just getting going, but absolutely fine for tea and a fancy, if you have the appropriate documentation to leave N8 and cross the railway line.
