Connecting Crouch End and Hornsey with news, views and information

Does anyone know of any activities such as a bridge club that would be suitable for an older person (79) in the N8 area? Preferably something during the day that a lady with some memory problems might enjoy and get to meet people?  I know of all things to do for young children and babies but wouldn't know where to start at the other end of the age spectrum.   Info on any sort of drop-in groups or social occasions for older folk would be much appreciated.

Many thanks.

I don't know about Bridge Clubs specifically but I do know Haringey publishes a list of events that are on 'today'. You can see a page of such events taking place to day in Haringeyhere. This has a lot of events for children but some for older people, e.g. the Crouch End Health Walk, Haringey University of the 3rd Age, and Go On computer sessions for adults.

Checking to see what has been published can be tiresome, so I use the Google RSS Reader and have it open up as a tab in my browser each day. One of the feeds I subscribe to is the Haringey What's On Today feed http://www.haringey.gov.uk/whatsontodays_rss

I have just seen a blog on Bowes and Bounds Connected about the Haringey Forum for Older People. In it the blogger (Ruth C) refers to 'organise many events' - though I don't know of what sort. She publishes contact details and may well know more about clubs.
Great, thanks Adrian I'll check that out.
